Who is Jane Unbound?

To understand this unique brand. You must know who I am and where I come from. I am the owner of Jane Unbound and my name is Julianne. I grew up in a small town and grew up around traditional people. I was taught that there’s things girls do and boys do, but not both.

Since I was a toddler, I was taught how to take care of a household with all its duties. When it came to BBQs and gatherings, I was in the kitchen getting everybody’s drink requests and helping with food preparations. I would watch as the boys got to play and have fun.

I did play with toy trucks, rolled around in the mud, and liked to look at earthworms, but I did hear from older adults that it was not appropriate for a girl to do.

Once I moved out, I felt safer to embrace my beliefs as they were always contrary to what people back in my town thought. I just felt I had to hide who I really was or what I really thought to not be rejected by my community.

I started to challenge different belief systems and started to dig into why I felt the way I felt. What was wrong? What was right? Not having people always shaming me; felt good, felt safe. I began to feel safer to be me.

With every year that passes, I embrace me more and more. I am also more vocal than what I used to be. I advocate, empower, and educate others to feeling confident with who they are.

As a curvy woman, I have experienced different struggles in that area with society. I once hated to see what was in the mirror and now (I still have my moments) I love who I see looking back. She has flaws, but she also has beauty.

As a strong woman, you can bet that I have been met with discrimination and opposition from people. I have also created an inner circle of people who celebrate me and I have the best bonds with them.

The journey has been tiresome at times, and also exciting. I will say that I did a lot of work to get where I am today and if I had to do it all over again, I would say yes! I have never regretted the work I put in to be me. I have met others in their own journey too, we would listen and support each other with our goals. I am grateful for those people.

I wanted to start a business where people can come and feel safe. After hiding and feeling judged from the world. You can feel comfort and happiness with someone who gets you, because I live it everyday!

Whenever I see a product or person who sees me, I feel bliss inside. I want my brand to do the same for you. I want you to let down your hair, let yourself breathe, and feel happiness.

I’m still figuring out what Jane Unbound is going to be, but I’ve started with stickers and candle DIY kits which I sell online. I’m now working on sex education materials to normalize sexuality and learn about ourselves in a safe place.

I hope you join me on this journey and find comfort, hope, and happiness in my products and content. I am so excited about my newest adventure and I hope to make a difference to individuals and the community.
